Appellate Resource Attorney

The Washington State Office of Public Defense is recruiting for an Appellate Resource Attorney who provides support for contract attorneys through a variety of methods to include case staffing and consultation, training development and delivery, monitoring contractor performance, and engaging with stakeholders to identify methods to improve contractor performance. The Appellate Resource Attorney will report to the Appellate and Post-Conviction Unit Supervisor. This is a new position, and represents OPD’s commitment to grow and develop its Appellate Program to better assist and support contract attorneys to improve upon client-centered representation. Attorney Representation for Indigent Parents

The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) Parents Representation Program (PRP) currently provides state funded attorney representation and case support services to indigent parents, custodians and legal guardians involved in child dependency and termination of parental rights proceedings in all Washington counties. There are currently contracts available for the 2027 fiscal year for the following counties:

Blake Vacate Attorney Contracts

The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) is looking to enter into contracts with solo practice attorneys and/or multi-attorney organizations who will provide legal services to individuals eligible for a Blake vacate of a Simple Drug Possession conviction and refuds of paid LFOs and third party costs. OPD is seeking responses to RFQs as follows:

Social Services Professional for Indigent Parents in Dependence Cases

The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) Parents Representation Program (PRP) currently provides state funded attorney representation and social service professional support services to indigent parents, custodians and legal guardians involved in child dependency and termination of parental rights proceedings in all 39 Washington counties. OPD is requesting applications for social service professional in the following counties:
