Forensic Civil Commitment Program Seeking Attorney Contractor for Involuntary Treatment Act Proceedings

OPD seeks a conflict attorney to provide representation for Involuntary Treatment Act proceedings. A contacted conflict attorney is expected to represent clients in cases brought by the State of Washington who are involuntarily committed up to 90 to 180 days. This position is considered part time. Forensic Civil Commitment Program Seeking Attorney Contractor

The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) Forensic Commitment Program provides state funded attorney representation to indigent clients with a right to counsel at State expense after a finding of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, under Ch. 10.77 RCW. A contract attorney will represent individuals who have been acquitted not guilty by reason of insanity of a criminal charge and have been committed to a state hospital or facility for treatment of their mental illness and dangerousness. The Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) provides state funded attorney representation and case support to indigent parents, custodians and legal guardians involved in child dependency and termination of parental rights proceedings. The following counties are seeking contracts:

Social Worker or Social Services Specialist for Indigent Parents in Dependency Cases
